Ah, Music!
By Aliki
Publisher HarperCollins
This book briefly covers many of the aspects of music. Aliki begins by asking, “What is Music.” Sound, rhythm, melody, pitch and tone, volume, and feeling are all discussed. Further pages in the book cover the instruments of the orchestra, what a conductor does, voice as an instrument, harmony, dynamics and tempo, dance, and the history of music. With so much to cover, this picture book doesn’t cover anything in great depth, but it does present its information in easy to understand terms. The illustrations create a happy and light atmosphere that makes learning about music a pleasant affair.
