Cooking with Max
By Max Nania
Photographs: Sienna Nania
Publisher Five Star Publications
Cooking with Max is a children’s cookbook written by Max Nania, seven-years-old, and designed for young children. Kids can’t make these recipes on their own. Some require cooking on the stove or chopping with sharp knives. However, they are all recipes that have fun things for kids to do. In the Mud Cake recipe, they can “ooze” the chocolate pudding mud over the top of the cake. The recipes combine fun with tastiness including inventive recipes like a Tarzan Wrap that employs bananas and whole wheat tortillas. The book begins with tips for grownups and tips for kids to help you get started. Each recipe includes Mom’s Tips as well as photos of Max cooking and comments on the recipe by Max. As the sub title of the book says, these are “45 Fun and Kind of Messy Recipes Kids Can Make.”
