The Nativity: Mary Remembers
By

The story of the nativity can become a ritual telling that blurs the humanity of Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus. In this picture book, Mary is the narrator. The humanity of the story's characters shines through much as the illustrations shine with a suffused glow. Joseph worries that Mary might catch a chill and is dismayed to find only a stable to shelter them. Mary speaks of her dear Joseph who trusted in the Lord. They seem like real people into whose lives a great miracle has come, and they make more real the miracle that came into our lives at Christ's birth, too.
