Once Upon a Blue Moon
By SE Blakeslee
Publisher Blaumond Press
If you wish upon a blue moon as the little boy in this book does, you too may be visited by Freddy. Freddy can take on any shape. In our story he becomes a blanket, so that he can fulfill the boys wish that his sick friend get well. Later as a chair and flying carpet, he takes the two children on a marvelous tour of the world. Eventually, Freddy must leave to go and answer another wish upon q blue moon.
Fans of illustration techniques will enjoy learning more about the methods used to create what the author calls “an electronic version of the age-old amberlith film masking techniques.” Book notes explain the process. Using pure spot colors with nine inks including one metallic ink, Blakeslee has created a vividly striking picture book. |
