The Prince and the Pauper
By
Jim Weiss
Publisher
Greathall Productions
"The Prince and the Pauper" is one of those stories that really grabs a child's imagination. The idea of trading places with someone else whose lifestyle is totally foreign is exciting to contemplate. Mark Twain's tale of pauper Tom Canty switching places with England's Prince Edward as told by Jim Weiss will capture and hold your child's attention. This CD is one of my family's favorite Jim Weiss storytelling CDs.
Weiss does more than just read Twain's story; he orally acts it out. His voice characterizations are perfect and help the listener imagine each character. Storytelling is an art that your children will want to learn after listening to Weiss. This CD is guaranteed to shorten a long boring drive. It is approximately one hour in length and divided into segments so you can stop for a bathroom break and come back to the CD easily. Of course, you may also hear groans when you arrive at your destination one segment short of completing the CD.
