The Rumpoles and the Barleys: A Little Story About Being Thankful
Illustrator: Karen Hunt
Publisher: Harvest House Publishers

The Rumpoles and the Barleys introduces us to two mouse families of different social worlds much like the country mouse and the city mouse. The Rumpoles live in Rumpole Mansion. The Barleys live in a modest hole on the edge of a barley field. These two families might have gone on living their lives unaware of the other if Eustace and Prunella Rumpole hadn’t climbed out the window and slid down the drainpipe. Learning how the other half lives, Eustace and Prunella realize how selfish they have been and begin to see the Barley world and their own with thankful eyes. The moral of the story is supplied by Psalms 118:11, “O give thanks unto the Lord for He is good.”
