Small Camel Follows the Star
By Rachel W. N. Brown
Illustrator Ferri Giuliano
Publisher Albert Whitman and Company
Small Camel is young and not very strong, but when a certain star appears his owner, Balthazar, puts a small pack on his back and takes him on a great adventure.
You now the story of the three wise men, of course, but this tells it from a different angle and, while walking the long way with Small Camel, you come to truly appreciate the lengths the wise men went to in order to worship the young king.
Rachel W. N. Brown's storytelling skills are excellent and Giuliano Ferri's illustrations are a perfect complement to the text. This is definitely a good choice for the Christmas bookshelf.
