Uncle Wiggly's Storybook
By Jim Weiss
Publisher Greathall Productions
Uncle Wiggily is a gentleman rabbit who offers a steady and wise influence on the other animals in the forest when their forest home is visited by picnicking children, a circus lion and elephant, camping boys, and a rich cat. He reflects the virtues of good manners and helping others in all he does.
Jim Weiss's rendition of these Uncle Wiggily stories is perfect for younger listeners. My 13 and 17-year-olds weren't as thrilled because the stories are really geared for younger children. Anyone of any age, who is interested in the art of storytelling, will love this CD for the range of voice characterizations Weiss creates. I laughed aloud at his very apt voicing of the Rich Cat's driver. The voice alone created a powerful picture of the character in my mind.
This CD with an introduction and six stories runs about one hour. It can be listened to in one sitting, but I think it would work perfectly to listen to each story individually.
